Fantastic hiking trails in rustic valleys such as the Ulten Valley or the Passiria Valley are just waiting to be discovered by you. These paths will lead you to beautiful places while hiking near Merano. Extensive, untouched nature parks such as the Texelgruppe or the Stilfserjoch attract countless hikers every year. A popular hiking trail is located on the Tschögglberg high plateau in the Texel Group Nature Park. Host Paul will show you the most beautiful hiking trails and alpine pastures that you should see when hiking near Merano. Experience the Merano mountains from the point of view of a South Tyrolean and relax in untouched nature. The highlight of the joint hikes are always the traditional hut snacks. Whether South Tyrolean bacon, cheese or a good glass of wine, we make every hiker's heartbeat faster.

 

The walk along the Waalweg leads you from your, hiking hotel in South Tyrol, Pfeiss to Forst.

Since we meet many other hikers here who greet politely, this path is also called the "Grüß-Gott-Weg".

Start: Start hiking near Merano with an easy round. Directly from the hotel you can walk into the village up to the bus stop from where our tour starts.

Hiking: We cross the main road and walk to the valley station of the cable car to the Vigiljoch. Shortly before we turn right into the Villener Weg. At the second street turn left into Raffeingasse and now walk steeply up to the Marlinger Waalweg.

The Waalweg winds along the mountain, you always walk at about the same height. From here you can enjoy wonderful hiking near Merano. At this point you have a beautiful panoramic view of the whole Merano countryside just as in Marling, here there are some very instructive boards about nature around the Marlinger Waalweg. Here the Waalrast, the restaurant Enzian and the restaurant Waldschenke offer possibilities for a break.

We continue along the route to Forst (walking time approx. 2.5 hours). There the brewery of the same name has a nice inn with a beer garden. We can test the various products calmly, on your hiking vacation near Merano, because we return to Lana by bus (line 211).

Arrived at your 4 star hiking hotel, in South Tyrol, you can relax in the wellness area and end the day comfortably.

Tip: You can also walk the trail only to Marling, take a break there and walk back to Lana on the same path (walking time 2 ¼ hours) or descend to Marling afterwards and then take the bus back to Lana (line 211) (walking time 1.5 hours).
